DAORE

A Fernandes Burny FLG-90 seems to be made in 1980.  In case of Fernandes, it is sometimes difficult to identify certain grade and age of manufacturing.

According to 1980’s catalogue, there are unfortunately few description of difference among FLG-90, FLG-150 and FLG-240. To make the matter worse, Fernandes didn’t distinguish single piece carved top from dressing board on carved maple top on catalogue description then. Both were likewise called single piece maple carved top.  The only clear difference is pickup, Seymour Duncan model 59 on FLG-150/240, Fernandes original L-8001Vintage on FLG-90.

FLG-240 has additional sentence on the catalogue.

“We sometimes may decline order due to shortage of rare material for this guitar.  We present 240,000JPY for this guitar, but we may change the price depends on material market.  Again, we kindly ask for your understanding.”

How they could adapt dressing board top on FLG-240 after such a magnificent declaration?  That’s why I suppose FLG-240 should have carved top.  Probably FLG-150 had mild figured top, and FLG-90 had dressing board top.

FLG-150/240’s pickups were Seymour Duncan model 59 originally.  But previous owner mounted Gibson 57'Classic on this guitar.  Who changes Seymour Duncan model 59 to Gibson 57'Classic?, it’s hard to understand, but changing L-8001 Vintage to Gibson 57'Classic, it’s very reasonable.  That’s why I believe firmly this one to be FLG-90.

Coil tap switch was added, frets were exchanged, one peg was changed original two hump type to single hump type, it’s far from collector’s condition.  But the sound is marvelous. 4.76kg(includes strings). (Updated 2016.8.19)
