Fernandes Burny RLG-50 '59 Model (RLG-50-59)
This Fernandes Burny RLG-50 '59 Model features a color described in the catalog as “COS”, a finish intended to recreate the look of a faded tea burst.
Fernandes launched “The Revival Series” in 1981 with the aim of producing high-quality Gibson and Fender replica models, and the series continued until around 1988.
Focusing here specifically on the Les Paul Standard models within that series:
The initial 1981 lineup carried over directly from the previous year and consisted of FLG-90, FLG-150, and FLG-240.
In 1982, the lineup was refreshed—the model prefix changed from FLG to RLG, and four models were introduced: RLG-50, RLG-90, RLG-120, and RLG-150.
Starting in 1984, the RLG-60 '59 Model was added, featuring a laminated (veneered) top.
While the three-piece mahogany back is somewhat disappointing, considering the price point, the overall specifications are otherwise excellent.
The pickups have brass-colored baseplates with black shielded leads, identifying them as VH-4 pickups, which were used in the later years of the Revival Series.
Weight: 4.46 kg (including strings)
