A Greco EG-1000 made in 1975.
I became noticed the existence of this color this time. According to the catalogues, they produced only two colors, B(black) and R(red sunburst). Now I call this color WR(wine red) for the sake of convenience.
Greco Les Pauls started to have serial number from 1976. If you find no serial number on the headstock, you need to confirm the date mark of pickups.
The second number of it is “5”, it means that they made this guitar in 1975. If the electrical circuit seems to have been untouched, the pickup date mark should be a reliable information.
When I got this one, its condition was terrible. The frets changed to red with thick rust. The tailpiece and bridge were lost and inlays embedded on the headstock were broken. I reinstalled tailpiece and bridge with Greco genuine parts of those days.
EG-1000 head inlays of same age seem to be fragile. My EG-1000R also has cracks on its head inlay in spite of excellent general condition. 4.46kg(includes strings). (Updated 2016.8.24)
