1978 Greco GO-1200 (Natural Finish)
This 1978 Greco GO-1200, finished in natural, is in remarkable condition — the metal parts show almost no tarnish, and the overall preservation is excellent.
The through-neck construction, which became popular through B.C. Rich, links the tuners, bridge, and tailpiece along a single continuous structural axis.
This design minimizes energy loss and allows for exceptionally long sustain — one of its defining characteristics.
Inspired in part by the impact of Alembic guitars, many Japanese makers of the late 1970s introduced their own through-neck designs.
Among the original domestic models of that era were the Aria Pro II TS and RS series, Yamaha’s SG and SC series, Fernandes MH-100, and Kawai’s F-1 (and Jr.).
Of those pioneering lines, only the Yamaha SG series has survived to the present day.
After a long period of relative obscurity, the GO Series has recently enjoyed a renewed surge in popularity, and prices at auction have risen accordingly.
The natural-finished body reflects light with a golden luster that, combined with its gold hardware, gives the instrument a genuinely luxurious presence.
Weight: 4.30 kg (including strings)
