Aria Pro II LS-600P 1980
Aria Pro II LS-600P, made in 1980.
In July 2009, I obtained a catalog and confirmed that this model was listed in the 1980 catalog. The model name was also identified as LS-600P. The retail price at that time was 60,000 yen.
To be frank, Aria Pro II guitars were somewhat overshadowed. This was not due to the quality of the guitars themselves, but rather the impressive strategy of Kanda Shokai, which developed and sold Greco guitars. There is no difference in quality between the two brands.
The top is made of 3-piece hard maple, which conveys a sense of quality, and the dark rosewood fingerboard features fret edge binding. Nowadays, even mid- to high-grade guitars rarely have such craftsmanship.
The cherry-colored Les Paul equipped with P-90 pickups does not appear to be found from other manufacturers and seems to have been made exclusively by Aria Pro II. The weight is 4.28 kg (including strings). (Updated on June 16, 2016)
