A Tokai LS-200 produced in 1980.
Serial number is “7”. I can’t confirm whether the serial number were engraved in a sequence or not, but No.7 is somehow happy for me. By the way, the numeral “7” means happiness only among English-speaking countries essentially.
A few scratches and dents but generally in excellent condition, especially the headstock is flawless like new guitar. The decal “200” remains firmly. The material is splendid like the other LS-200 of the same period, expressing beautiful figure like soft maple even though high quality hard maple with freckles.
We commonly know that Tokai LS series was designed by 3 dimensional data of a real ‘Burst which the late Tomiaki Hidaka, the guitarist of GARO, owned. I have never seen real ‘Burst in front of my eyes, but it must be sure that this guitar has the same shape of ‘Burst.
The proportion of ‘Burst is perfect and astonishing. As you see I have many Japanese Les Pauls but few were perfectly imitated. I confirmed the difference of the arch shape. Tokai LS has a little steep mound in its waist, especially around the neck pickup in comparison with the other companies’ products. Due to that or not, in old-fashioned speaking, it looks sexy.
Only Tokai LS copies the ‘Burst completely, and expresses perfection of real ‘Burst.
DiMarzio PAF on the neck position, and SuperDistortion on the bridge position. 4.10kg(includes strings). (Updated 2016.8.26)
