LS-50 and LS-60 are cheap grade of LS series.
According to the catalogue, Tokai gave carved top to all arched top guitars then. Honduras Mahogany was used for the back of LS-80 and upper grade. “Mahogany” was adapted for LS-60/50, probably it means African Mahogany(Khaya). Headstock angle of 14 degree and finished by polyester paint.
The serial number was stamped on the back of headstock, not engraved. According to the site “Tokai LS-60/80 by Daizo”(closed), they gave stamped serial number with the second numeral “1” on LS-60/50 produced in Nagano factory from 1980 to 1981.
I replaced pickups to Gibson’s from original “LS Hot” pickups because they had over output and easily made raged sound.
Not gorgeous but well-balanced, comfortable to play. 3.95kg(includes strings). (Updated 2016.8.27)
