A copy model of the B.C. Rich Mockingbird that I acquired around 2003.
The guitar's main structure consists of a maple body with a lacquer finish and an ebony fingerboard. It is equipped with Grover Imperial 150C tuners, and the pickups are DiMarzio Dual Sound models. The inlays are made of white mother-of-pearl, which is a higher-quality specification compared to the pearloid cell used by Fernandes.
Aside from component-type guitars manufactured using a die-cut process like Fender, creating a natural-finish guitar like this is a challenging task for craftsmen. This is because there can be no shortcuts in the production process. Older types of B.C. Rich guitars are typical examples of this. One can imagine the level of effort involved in making such intricate position mark inlays.
The price at that time was 160,000 yen, making it a high-end guitar on par with domestic high-end Les Pauls. The sound of the maple body is extremely solid. The weight is 3.77 kg (including strings). (Updated on June 16, 2016)
