This guitar features a vibrant red color. The catalog color designation is SR (See-Through Red). The sleek, thin body and flowing body lines on both the front and back are characteristic of the PE-R series. The PE-R60 and PE-60 have a flat back similar to a Les Paul, giving them a slightly thicker feel compared to the higher-end models.

While the PE-R80 is quite popular, it has a three-layer structure of maple-mahogany-maple, which tends to emphasize the mid to high frequencies due to the brass nut.
