A Greco TE-500N, natural colored Thinline model handcrafted in 1978.
In those days, guitar boys didn’t interested in Thinline at all because popular guitarists didn’t play them. I only remember Ryudo Ozaki, a Japanese singer and composer, played Fender Thinline in his Downtown Boogie-Woogie Band on television.
After all, popularity of a guitar model depends on whether famous guitarists play them or not. If famous guitarists such as Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and Eric Clapton didn’t play ’Bursts, they would only be evaluated as high quality guitars.
If Edie van Halen played Thinline then, there would be a lot of Thinline in the world now. Someone may say that I am ridiculous because Edie selected his guitar by a special necessity and it was impossible for Edie to select Thinline. But I dare to say that only recurrent incidents will make a human story.
Greco changed previous MH803 Scheller type to SD81-05M Kluson type, and also changed pickup PU-113 to PU-103 from 1978. Sen(Japanese ash) body. 3.25kg(includes strings). (Updated 2016.8.24)
