HIKI

DAORE

Tokai changed Les Paul model name LS to TLS in 1983.

This guitar has much scratches and dent, so-called in player’s condition.  No “200” decal is not remained but gold logo mark and perfect tiger maple tells us it's a flagship.

Some modifications seem to have been done.  The tuners were replaced to Gibson’s.  Front pickup is DiMarzio PAF and rear pickup is Seymour Duncan 59.  The catalogue statement indicates Duncan 59 both, so the front pickup might be replaced.

This guitar has a history of broken neck.  When I got it there was ugly repair wound, so I requested Tokai Gakki Co.,Ltd. for complete repair.

Guitars with neck repair history were dealt as damaged ones.  It is inevitable.  But I regard the influence to essential value of the guitar as rather smaller.  Many repaired guitars famous musicians own.  For example, Greeny, the late Gary Moore owned and sold price of over 1 million dollar had a history of broken neck.

As far as I know, the only one guitar with stamped serial number except for LS-50/60 manufactured in 1980 to 1981 at Nagano factory.  So it might be handcrafted there too.

Now we often see guitars with fine striped tiger maple, for example the Historic Collection Series of Gibson, but were very rare in those days of Japanese Les Paul. 4.06kg(includes strings). (Updated 2016.8.26)
